Happy Kris Bryant Day Chicago Cubs Fans!

With Mike Olt headed to the disabled list and Kris Bryant's Super Two status no longer an issue, the Cubs have called up Bryant, who is expected to make his major league debut this afternoon against James Shields and the San Diego Padres.

As you probably know, Bryant had a torrid spring, leading the Cactus League in home runs after leading the minors in home runs last year.  While Theo Epstein typically likes to call-up prospects while his team is on the road, his hand was somewhat forced here as Olt was not able to shake off being hit by a pitch on his wrist in Colorado on April 11th.  It now appears that Olt sustained a fracture that will require his wrist to be casted.

The Kris Bryant era starts today.
